Job Description: Data Engineering Internship

Colgate-Palmolive invites applications for the Summer/Fall 2024 Data Engineering Internship within our Global Information Technology (GIT) organization. This is a paid, six-month internship starting in June and extending through fall, with potential for further extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learn our Data Engineering technology stack and best practices.
  • Build and support data pipelines and components.
  • Collaborate within a team environment.
  • Communicate and present project work, including blockers, progress, learnings, and future development plans.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program, graduating no earlier than December 2024.
  • Majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Business/ IT Systems Management, or related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Availability to work hybrid at our Piscataway, NJ office.
  • Available to work 35 hours/week during summer and 15 hours/week during the academic semester.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Python and Git/GitHub (version control).

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with Airflow or task orchestration tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD, Docker/containerization, SQL, and GCP tools.
  • Knowledge of good coding practices, such as using linters, following style guides, and documenting code.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $21.75 - $31.00 USD per hour. Compensation is based on multiple factors including experience, education, skills, and location.

Additional benefits for salaried employees include:
