About the Role:
The Sama R&D team is concentrated on providing integrated solutions to the most complex ML problems for Fortune 2000 customers. We utilize advanced Software Engineering practices to create scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that encompass multiple aspects of ML and AI, from data ingestion to annotation and construction and operation of ML models. We are currently seeking an exceptional Front-End Senior Software Developer ready to use their top-notch development skills to produce compelling solutions that will power the next generation of 2D and 3D image annotation for training AI/ML learning algorithms.
Specifically, in this role, you will handle our data engineering infrastructure programmatically, using Apache Spark to develop highly scalable data flows which allow us to process the image annotation data used to power our client's Machine Learning algorithms. You will be expected to generate high-quality big data processing code while receiving guidance from our seasoned developers in the data engineering and analytics team.
Responsibilities:
- Modify our existing data pipelines and create new ones using Python code
- Write unit and integration tests to thoroughly ensure the quality of our data pipelines
- Manage the deployment of data pipelines to local, development, and production environments
- Aid in the design of our different data source layers
- Integrate our data sources with Analytics tools used by our key stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years Hands-on software development experience
- Object-oriented programming software engineering experience
- Ability to design, develop, test, and optimize code
- Think incrementally and have experience in Agile development
- Experience with designing and implementing service-oriented architectures
- Understanding of backend application development and the ability to explain the strengths and weaknesses of one design choice over another
- Experience with data modeling and SQL querying
- Familiarity with at least one modern backend language (Golang, C#, Java, Python)
- Distributed data processing framework (e.g. Apache Spark, Dataflows)
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Relational storage (Postgresql, SQL Server)
- NoSQL storage
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge/experience with front-end applications (React, Angular)
- Familiarity with test-driven development
- Experience in mentorship or teaching roles
- Comfortable working with a distributed team
- Statistical background
