Role Overview: Data Governance & Controls AVP

The AVP supports the Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO) and plays a pivotal role in the Report Inventory, Ownership, and Tiering Control within MUFG Americas. This position is fundamental to our Data Management Integrated Control Framework, ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of our report inventories, risk management, and regulatory compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define process requirements and create governance structures for report inventories.
  • Lead coordination and execution of report inventorying, encompassing continuous refreshes and ad hoc changes.
  • Collaborate with various MUFG stakeholders to gather information necessary for comprehensive report inventories.
  • Conduct quality assurance on report metadata ensuring alignment with governance and compliance standards.
  • Support the development and testing of automated report inventory review workflows.
  • Document processes and maintain detailed status updates to aid in training and audit activities.
  • Identify and implement improvements in ongoing business activities to enhance data governance strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in data governance, quality management, or data management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data governance principles, frameworks, and tools.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading data governance initiatives and facilitating governance meetings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and data governance applications like PowerBi and Collibra.

The typical base salary for this pivotal role ranges from $110K to $134K annually, depending on expertise and location.
