Job Description

As a Data Management Advisor (Manager) on the EDRM team, you will utilize your analytical, data management, and process management skills to understand our business's data management practices and pinpoint potential risks. Collaborate with EDRM teammates and stakeholders to review data management controls, practices, testing outcomes, and reporting. Use comprehensive analysis and a diverse range of resources to derive actionable insights on data risk, shaping them into strategic challenges and risk narratives.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to business partners by providing insightful and actionable data risk assessments.
• Continuously explore reporting, metrics, and other data sources to understand the status of data management risk across the enterprise. Identify and analyze noteworthy trends and collaborate with subject matter experts to craft actionable recommendations.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and review data management controls quarterly, identifying necessary changes to manage data risk effectively.
• Perform gap assessments and recommend steps towards compliance with enterprise data management standards.
• Encourage stakeholders to adhere to data management best practices through both informal influence and formal challenge mechanisms.
• Explain data management requirements to partners, fostering compliance through collaboration and education.
• Provide regular updates, including formal presentations, to leaders on identified risks.
• Exhibit strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and influencing skills throughout the organization.
• Stay informed on effective data management strategies, requirements, and industry trends.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent military experience
• At least 4 years of experience in data management or data governance
• At least 4 years of experience in risk management
• At least 2 years of experience governing metadata and data quality
• At least 2 years of experience managing processes or controls

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in risk management within financial services
• 5+ years of experience in data management or data governance
• 3+ years of experience governing metadata and data quality
