Job Responsibilities

As a Data Management Advisor (Principal Associate) at Capital One’s EDRM team, you will leverage your analytical, data management, and process management skills to understand business practices and identify data management risks. You will collaborate with your team and stakeholders to review data management controls, testing outcomes, and reporting. Your key tasks will include:

• Diving deep into data reporting, metrics, and other sources to understand the current state of data management risk.
• Identifying changes, events, patterns, or trends that require attention and building actionable recommendations.
• Executing regular risk assessments to review and update data management controls quarterly.
• Performing gap assessments and creating recommendations for compliance with data management expectations.
• Supporting the team with process management, including running stand-ups, tracking challenges, and providing updates.
• Demonstrating strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and influencing skills.
• Staying updated on Data Management strategies, requirements, and industry trends.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
• 3+ years of experience in data management or data governance
• 3+ years of experience in risk management
• 2+ years of experience managing processes or controls
• 1+ year of experience in governing metadata and data quality

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in risk management within financial services
• 4+ years of experience in data management or data governance
• 2+ years of experience governing metadata and data quality
