Your Role

As a key member of the Data Strategy CoE team, you will lead the design and delivery of Vodafone UK's Data Strategy, maximizing incremental value from data by ensuring it is ‘Valuable’, ‘Accessible’, and ‘Trusted’. This is an exciting time to join as we embark on our data transformation journey, implementing this strategy across Vodafone UK.

Your responsibilities will include managing the processes around data management risk and supporting the identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting on these risks. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding sensitive data, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing a third line of defense for Privacy and Cyber Security risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the data management risk framework for Vodafone UK
  • Prepare regular reports and communicate risk findings to senior management
  • Implement a standardized approach for LoBs to self-assess their data management practices
  • Collaborate with LOBs to address identified data management risks
  • Maintain a risk register for data management risks
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to reduce potential data management risks
  • Work with data owners and stewards to understand the criticality and classification of data assets
  • Act as a third line of defense and ensure appropriate controls are in place based on data sensitivity
  • Track and monitor data management risks against established taxonomy
  • Utilize risk trends and analysis to inform data governance strategy and risk mitigation efforts

Ideal Candidate

Risk Management: Proven experience in risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting.

Auditing: Expertise in conducting data management risk audits and self-assessment reviews.

Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across departments.

Data Security: Strong understanding of data security controls, vulnerabilities, and best practices.

Data Management: Good knowledge of data management principles, best practices, and regulations.
