The Insights & Data Crew within the Digital & Customer Experience team at Commonwealth Bank is dedicated to driving capabilities that support digital growth and innovation. As a Data Management Senior Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in executing various data management activities according to our Group's Data Management framework. This includes identification of Critical Data Elements (CDEs), performing Data Quality Assessments, capturing and completing multiple levels of data lineages, and identifying data controls.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Engage with various Squads and Stakeholders to analyze data quality and integrity issues impacting business, including risk, compliance, and regulatory issues.
- Provide data stewardship support and offer subject matter expertise in data management to key stakeholders, driving quality data delivery.
- Design tactical and strategic solutions to remediate data issues and collaborate with IT delivery teams for the implementation.
- Develop and support Data Quality and Data reconciliation reporting solutions to aid ongoing monitoring.
- Apply the data governance framework to identify CDEs using tools like the ready-reckoner and capture key data details.
- Link CDEs to business processes to pinpoint where data errors could critically impact operations.
- Identify checkpoints for the build of Data Controls to ensure assessed data quality.
- Manage work streams independently and maintain relationships with stakeholders, escalating concerns as necessary.
- Analyze and document data elements using our Data Management Implementation methodology.
- Upload data management artifacts in the Data Governance Tool (Alation).
We're Interested in Hearing from Candidates Who Have:
- A developed Risk Mindset.
- Extensive experience in data governance and data quality management, preferably within a large financial institution.
- Proven data analysis skills using SQL and experience in facilitating workshops with various stakeholders.
- Experience in managing Data Dictionary, Data Catalogue, Data Lineage, and other metadata configurations.
- Familiarity with data quality tools such as Collibra, Alation, and Ab-initio.
- A degree or diploma in Information Technology/Management or Business Process.
