The Role We are seeking a skilled Head of Data to propel our data strategy. You will manage the data team and leverage your expertise in leading high-performance teams, driving the development and expansion of our cloud-based data platform and data infrastructure. This position and the team will be based in Lisbon (flexible working mode). We want someone who is modest, eager, and brilliant; someone with a solid track record in a data-related capacity between product and technology teams at product-led growth companies. What you will do: • Concentrate on data availability, inspect current databases and evaluate missing data layers; • Channel our strategy towards data integrity, focusing on the ideal architecture and its scalability; • Develop data availability models for the entire company; • Satisfy the varying needs of internal and external stakeholders related to data; • Own a strategic vision, being a vocal advocate for data at a company-wide level; • Tutor, support, and advocate for a data-first approach; • Institute data quality and governance practices throughout the organization. Requirements What you will bring: • At least 6+ years of experience in the data field, including 2-3 years as a Head of Data or similar position; • Experience in leading high-performance teams in analysis, modeling, experiments, and building data tools while adhering to best practices; • Proficiency with Spark SQL, Spark Streaming, Kafka, and AWS; • Comprehensive knowledge of: Data Mesh, Domain-Driven-Design, Data Warehouse vs Data Lake, ETL vs ELT, and batch processing and real-time streaming; • Excellent communication skills (fluent in English, both written and spoken), with a self-motivated and autonomous approach.
