Job Description

ARHS Digital is seeking a Data Modeler to join the cross-functional division of the Data department of one of its clients, an influential entity in the Financial Sector in Brussels.

As a Data Modeler, you will play a crucial role in preparing and making data available securely and safely for multiple uses by Businesses and Functions for various purposes: reporting, analytics, visualization, APIs & more.

Role & responsibilities

  • Establishing, enhancing and implementing modeling standards & guidelines, by providing guidance and support to the data engineers in their utilization.
  • Evaluating the data models for the correct application of the rules/guidelines/standards by the data engineers on a regular basis. This requires close collaboration with the data architects and data managers and an in-depth understanding of the client’s standards.
  • Promoting awareness about data modeling by endorsing viable techniques and educating functional and technical data engineers.
  • Aiding the technical data engineers in the preparation, validation, and execution of ORACLE scripts. Also assisting data engineers in enhancing performance on existing databases.
  • Keeping track of the latest IT and Data advancements & development (internal & external) and suggesting innovative data solutions that can significantly improve business activities.

Your Profile

  • Proficient oral and written communication abilities in English and a strong understanding of French or Dutch.
  • Effective time management and prioritization abilities.

Technical skills

  • At least 5 years of experience with data in any of the financial field (product-related, business-related). Significant experience in Big Data technologies and platforms would be considered advantageous.
  • Practical experience with Data Vault modeling. Familiarity with PowerDesigner or any other modeling tool.
  • Client-focused and capable of transforming client requirements into documented solutions, co-creating suitable solutions for their needs collectively.
  • At least five years of experience in data management, data processing, data modeling. Profound understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling. Ability to design and develop good practices for Business Intelligence applications.
  • Agile mindset, eager to share your knowledge & learn. Open-minded in giving and receiving constructive feedback and inspire accordingly.
