Job Description: Data Operations Analyst

We are looking for a Data Operations Analyst to support key data deliverables at Silicon Valley Bank. Your main responsibilities will include monitoring data quality controls, data quality remediation, issue management, user inquiries handling, and facilitating data certification. You will also demonstrate thought leadership and coach junior team members.

Essential Functions

• Collaborate with business and technology teams to prioritize and resolve problems.
• Engage partners and vendors as needed for problem resolution.
• Open service requests to technology teams for bulk or process remediation.
• Maintain a high level of data quality and resolve any escalated issues.
• Ensure best practices are followed in project planning, management, and data governance requirements.

Decisions and Recommendations

• Define and implement data quality controls.
• Prioritize and triage data issues for remediation.
• Recommend consistent definitions, business naming standards, and security requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

Knowledge:

• Industry-leading data quality and data management practices, specific to FRY 2052A.
• Data governance practices and technology-related data protection approaches.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in SQL query for independent data analysis.
• Ability to work with diverse teams and provide direction to junior members.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in technology, information management, finance, or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in the financial industry.
• Proven experience in production data operations.
• Experience with regulated systems in the financial industry is a plus.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Experience in Data Analytics, Data Governance, and Data Quality.
• Hands-on experience with data governance tools.
