Cloud Platform Engineering focuses on the stability, reliability, and deployment of TCGplayer.com technology, aiming to increase organizational efficiency through well-designed automation and infrastructure.

Your Role as Data Operations Manager

As Data Operations Manager, you will work closely with Engineering, Cloud Operations, Developer Experience, and Architecture leadership to enhance the stability, scalability, and reliability of all data infrastructure. You will oversee the 24/7 operations of our data platforms, executing and automating operational processes efficiently. Your responsibilities will include deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing process improvements tailored to TCGplayer’s needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage operational effectiveness of internal database systems including MSSQL, Postgres, Elasticsearch, Redis, MongoDB, Snowflake, and Kafka.
  • Continuously seek and implement new technologies to simplify the environment while improving security and performance.
  • Advise leadership on cost and capacity planning, design, implementation, and testing of the platform.
  • Handle production incidents, mitigate and resolve issues, and conduct post-mortems to prevent recurrence.
  • Recruit, train, and coach employees, track work progress, communicate job expectations, and appraise performance.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and serve as an escalation point for other Cloud Platform Engineering personnel.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years operating, scaling, and forecasting on Microsoft SQL Server.
  • 3+ years experience managing data platform teams.
  • 2+ years in release management or production operations.
  • 2+ years of experience architecting and administering data platforms in AWS.
  • Proven experience with the Microsoft web stack (ASP.NET, SQL Server).

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position in California, Washington, or New York is expected to be between $149,200 and $234,850. The base pay offered may vary based on several individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include a target bonus and restricted stock units, in addition to a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, including PTO and parental leave).

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the company reserves the right to adjust base salary and other compensation for reasons related to individual performance, departmental or company performance, and market factors.
