The Data Quality team is pivotal in S&P Global's transformation into a next-generation data intelligence organization. As part of this team, you'll engage in acquiring and curating high-quality datasets used by our customers through subject matter expertise and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily data quality operations, managing data quality rules, detecting and validating anomalies, coordinating resolution processes, and capturing metrics.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate business requirements into data quality needs, validate results, and support issue resolution.
  • Support technical teams in prioritizing datasets for ingestion into data quality tools, ensuring proper setup for profiling and monitoring.
  • Review profiling results and assist in creating reusable custom data quality rules.
  • Capture metrics to demonstrate business value and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Identify integration and automation opportunities at data ingestion points and within internal applications.
  • Enhance data quality and governance standards by supporting best practices and enhancing data platforms.
  • Engage in new projects to advocate for fit-for-purpose data quality and strategic program objectives.
  • Share knowledge, provide training, and engage with stakeholders and data stewards.
  • Stay updated with industry trends in data quality and broader data management.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Graduates in 2024).
  • Basic understanding of data management principles and interest in data quality practices including profiling, rule development, and automation.
  • Familiarity with data quality tools like soda.io or similar (Great Expectations, Soda, Informatica IDQ) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in SQL and basic experience with Python/PySpark for data analysis and automation.
  • Basic knowledge of Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
  • Understanding of agile development life cycle frameworks and tools like Jira or Rally is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in an international team and independently, showing accountability, adaptability, and urgency.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, complex environments and navigate ambiguity.
  • Openness to sharing ideas, soliciting feedback, and collaboratively finding solutions.
  • Strong character, integrity, diplomacy, and respect for others.
