Position Summary

The Data Reporting and Integration Engineer will analyze, design, document, develop, unit test, and support ad hoc data reporting and database object development for a high-volume data warehouse. In this role, you'll design, develop, and maintain scalable solutions in a high-volume Microsoft SQL Server analytic data warehouse.

You'll work closely with both business and technical teams to ensure the timely, accurate delivery of reporting solutions. Additionally, you'll provide support and guidance on data integration and T-SQL best practices, and contribute to the design, development, and maintenance efforts of the data integration team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and development team members to define reporting requirements and deadlines.
  • Translate business needs into technical development requirements.
  • Design, develop, and implement ad hoc analytic reporting.
  • Integrate databases with other applications in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Design, develop, and implement database applications and solutions for managing and integrating data between operational systems, data repositories, and reporting and analytical applications, including ETL processes, stored procedures, views, and functions.
  • Provide guidance on data integration and database development best practices and standards.
  • Create technical design documentation detailing proposed database and/or data integration implementations.
  • Support investigations and troubleshooting of production issues.
  • Participate in the establishment of group standards and processes.
  • Continuously improve source code performance using industry-standard methodologies.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in data-centric roles (ETL, DBA, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL databases (preferably MS SQL Server)
  • 3+ years of experience with data integration technologies and principles
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, plus three to five years of relevant experience and/or training

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of OLTP and OLAP databases and schemas
  • Advanced knowledge of T-SQL, including complex SQL queries and best practices
  • Experience integrating data from structured and unstructured formats
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform self-directed work in a team environment
  • Proven ability to learn complex data systems
