Key Responsibilities
As a Data Science Manager, you will:
- Ensure the adoption and localization of model-building policies, standards, frameworks, governance processes, and integration of the business modeling and analytics value chain.
- Collaborate with senior data analytics management to establish goals and strategies for your area of accountability.
- Ensure ethical usage of information in compliance with privacy and sensitivity classification restrictions.
- Understand and implement privacy business requirements, legislation, and policy.
- Report any Information Privacy Incidents and drive the resolution of privacy and protection audit findings, complaints, incidents, investigations, and assessments.
- Leverage data and analytic insights to enhance customer experience by understanding customer context and identifying monetization opportunities.
- Manage an analytics team in the production of high-quality analyses across business functions.
- Create tactical plans for output deliverables in collaboration with business stakeholders, defining metrics to track performance.
- Drive team performance in delivering analytics solutions, enhancing data systems, and streamlining business processes to impact overall business results while keeping costs in check.
- Identify information commercialization opportunities through data analysis to address business needs and explore new revenue options.
- Ensure analytics productionization within the approved FirstRand architecture, translating technical data into practical business information.
- Oversee data manipulation and analysis to meet business needs and ensure data quality and reliability.
- Integrate analytics into operational processes to improve efficiency and client experience.
- Develop core analytical capabilities or model libraries using advanced statistical, quantitative, or econometric techniques.
- Manage overall project dependencies and prioritize the business's analytical needs and opportunities.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for analytics, applying your understanding of business operations and services.
- Define business questions, appropriate models, and identify relevant data sources for analysis.
- Translate business requirements into tangible solutions or models, leveraging your understanding of business value and project interrelatedness.
- Ensure accurate development and application of analytical algorithms and methods to build, test, and implement advanced mathematical models and solutions that improve business outcomes.
- Provide requirements to the Business Information Management function, ensuring data is prepared for organizational consumption.
- Create tactical plans in collaboration with Technology stakeholders to implement analytical solutions and models supporting business requirements.
- Ensure governance and compliance in the application and implementation of predictive models to manage risk.
- Monitor and document the output and accuracy of models.
- Provide input into business strategies through data analysis, proactively improving efficiency and driving innovation.
- Lead efforts to drive business performance and potential using existing and new data sources and techniques.
- Enable business units to understand their health, identify growth levers, and find optimization opportunities.
- Create data-driven approaches for generating business insights, visualizing information, and addressing business issues proactively.
- Validate and interpret analytical results, creating reports and presentations for data analytics management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure the effective use of data for operational results.
