The Problems You'll Solve

At Carta, we are dedicated to unlocking the power of equity ownership. As a Data Science Manager, you will:

  • Define the strategy and roadmap for the Data Science team within our Corporations business unit
  • Become an expert on Carta’s business domain and data offerings
  • Collaborate with business and product teams to leverage data for accelerating decision-making and driving business outcomes
  • Ensure internal access to consistent metrics and clear definitions
  • Contribute technically in data analysis and modeling
  • Manage and coach a team of 3-5 data science contributors with varying experience levels
  • Lead initiatives across the data science team for technical excellence, process improvements, and fostering a collaborative culture

The Team You'll Work With

The Data Science team at Carta is on a mission to drive data-informed decisions and products by collecting accurate data, building scalable infrastructure, and delivering advanced analytics. We focus on creating a robust data foundation to ensure quality and promote self-service. Additionally, we develop proprietary data products using Carta’s unique dataset and work collaboratively with colleagues across the company to achieve our goals.

About You

  • At least 3 years of experience managing a data team, coaching team members to meet their goals and contribute business value
  • Proficient in building strong stakeholder relationships, aligning data initiatives with strategic business goals
  • Skilled at transforming ambiguous problems into structured analytical projects and presenting insights to diverse audiences
  • Experienced in navigating and leading through change, and promoting a feedback culture
  • Fluent in Python and SQL, with a strong understanding of analytical methodologies, statistics, and product metric development
  • Experience with dbt and Looker is advantageous

Salary

Carta offers competitive compensation packages, including a market salary, equity for all full-time roles, exceptional benefits, and commission plans for applicable roles. The cash compensation range for this role is:

  • $192,000 - $240,000 in San Francisco, CA; Santa Clara, CA; New York, NY
  • $172,800 - $216,000 in Seattle, WA

Final offers may vary based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other factors.
