Position Overview: Data Scientist, Central Market Management & Decision Insights

As part of our dynamic Central Market Management team, Data Scientists are pivotal in shaping our products and decision-making processes by tackling a wide range of challenges from strategic long-term business decisions to agile weekly operations. We are currently seeking a passionate Data Scientist who is eager to address some of the most fascinating and critical issues in the ridesharing industry, particularly focusing on Driver Engagement initiatives. These projects are vital for enhancing driver communications, improving their overall experience, and balancing driver supply with customer demand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance and manage models and processes for Driver Engagement to optimize marketplace efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and Data Science & Analytics to meet business objectives.
  • Utilize data science and analytical tools to solve essential business challenges and recommend proactive actions.
  • Create and maintain frameworks, roadmaps, and metrics to steer team and organizational direction.
  • Work jointly with leadership to formulate data-driven business strategies and developmental roadmaps.

Required Experience:

  • Quantitative degree in statistics, economics, applied mathematics, operations research, or engineering. Advanced degrees preferred.
  • Over 6 years of direct, hands-on experience in data science or related technical fields.
  • A proven track record of navigating unstructured technical issues to produce significant business impacts.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Experience managing cross-functional relationships and effective communication with various leadership levels.
  • Openness and collaboration skills to contribute actively to team and cross-organization initiatives.
