Data Scientist - Global Business Product Marketing at Meta

Role Overview:
As a Data Scientist on our GBPM team, you will leverage extensive data sets to analyze patterns, run experiments, and create models that deepen our understanding of customer interactions. Your insights will directly influence Meta's strategic decisions and marketing strategies, enhancing user experiences across our app family.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize large-scale data to extract actionable insights about how customers engage with our products and services.
- Proactively detect opportunities to enhance the business experience within the Meta app ecosystem.
- Lead the data analysis process from collection and modeling to making strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams to find new uses for analytical and modeling techniques.
- Design and implement robust experiments, such as A/B tests and multi-armed bandit tests.
- Effectively communicate findings to business leaders to guide strategic decision-making.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in data science within business strategy, marketing, finance, engineering, or analytics.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data querying and manipulation.
- Strong background in experimental design and in applying statistical and analytical models using R or Python (pandas, Statsmodels, Scikit-learn, Tidyverse).
- Excellent stakeholder communication and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s, PhD) in a quantitative discipline (Math, Statistics, Economics, etc.).
- Experience initiating and driving projects independently.
- Demonstrated ability to use data to influence decision-making and provide business value.
- Familiarity with SQL and Python-based ETL frameworks and online marketing analytics.
- Experience in version control tools (git, mercurial) and in developing data pipelines.
- Proven ability to communicate with and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience deploying code in production settings.
