Job Summary: Data Scientist

The Stoneridge Advanced Engineering team is seeking a talented and motivated Data Scientist to strengthen our understanding and utilization of data across our entire engineering factory. This role focuses on vision AI and other broad applications of data science and AI to address diverse challenges within the company. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in developing and implementing data-driven solutions to optimize operations and drive business growth.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
  • Develop and implement predictive models and machine learning algorithms to solve various business problems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data science projects.
  • Work on diverse applications, including vision AI, cloud-based solutions, and other data-driven projects across the company.
  • Design and conduct experiments to validate hypotheses and optimize processes.
  • Communicate findings and insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders through reports, visualizations, and presentations.
  • Work with data engineers to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in data science and AI technologies and methodologies.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and provide guidance on best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
  • Strong knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis techniques.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, seaborn).
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
