About the role Zillow Group is presently searching for a Data Scientist to join the Marketing Data Science & Analytics team (Marketing DSA). As a data scientist, you'll be instrumental in creating visually striking representations of complex data to provide insights and facilitate decision-making for marketing stakeholders. On the Marketing DSA team, we're passionate about uncovering insights that aid our marketing team in shaping Zillow Group's future. The team closely collaborates with the marketing organization to identify strategic opportunities in areas spanning brand marketing and performance marketing across various channels like Google, Facebook, TV, and several business lines like rentals, B2C and B2B. In this role, you will: - Analyze and interpret large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that bolster marketing execution and optimization. - Work with marketing stakeholders to define key metrics, goals, objectives, and devise data-driven strategies to achieve them. - Apply statistical modeling and machine learning techniques to assess marketing performance. - Conduct in-depth market and customer segmentation analysis to pinpoint target audiences and shape marketing campaign strategies. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure pertinent insights are surfaced for decision making. - Work with data engineering teams to design and optimize data pipelines and workflows. - Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve marketing campaign effectiveness, customer targeting, and lead generation. - Communicate complex analytical findings to diverse stakeholders, translating technical concepts into actionable insights and recommendations. - Dive into Zillow's internal and third-party data to develop solutions that drive business growth and enable faster decision making. This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any part of Mexico, but preferably in Mexico City, as we would encourage attendance for occasional in-office events. In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance, and location. Who you are We're looking for an individual who has a passion for reporting, translating complex data sets and business problems into easily digestible and impactful insights. Ideally, you should have an undergraduate or Master's degree in a quantitative field (like mathematics, engineering, statistics, finance, or related fields), around 4 years of work experience in quantitative data analysis and complex problem solving, 3 years or more of experience as a data scientist, and a deep understanding of statistical concepts, measurement methods, and causal inference techniques relative to the marketing space. Nice to haves include experience with DBT, Snowflake, Looker, Tableau, Airflow or Fivetran, experience with online marketing, familiarity with ad tech space, privacy changes and marketing measurement ecosystem, work experience in agile methodology and familiarity with Jira tool, familiarity with data engineering tools and platforms, and experience in SEO and Google Analytics.
