Role Summary:
At Talabat, marketing is at the core of our mission to stand out in a competitive environment. Our data science team plays a crucial role in optimizing marketing strategies, balancing customer engagement with notification fatigue, personalizing campaigns, and maximizing ROI through precise analytics. This role demands a strong grasp of customer behavioral patterns, segmentation, and trend forecasting.
Expectations include applying advanced analytics and machine learning to interpret data sets, providing actionable insights for strategic marketing decision-making. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing customer acquisition and retention, thereby driving company growth through effective marketing tactics.
Leverage ambiguous business problems as opportunities using data, understand the intricacies of the product and business processes, and interact closely with engineering teams to model and measure performance. Design meaningful experiments and support product and business managers by providing crucial insights through in-depth analysis and KPI design. Your contribution will also include mentoring fellow data scientists and enhancing our work methods and tools.
Technical Experience:
- Mastery of SQL and experience in data analysis using Python or R.
- Proven skills in data modeling, along with a comprehensive understanding of data analysis lifecycles, and familiarity with analytics including descriptive, causal, and predictive analyses.
- Knowledge of BigQuery, Google Cloud Platform, and classical ML frameworks such as Scikit-learn is highly advantageous.
- Experience in data engineering and development of data pipelines (e.g., using Airflow) will be considered a plus.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required; a postgraduate degree is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in data science, particularly in an online consumer product environment.
- Effective problem-solving skills, excellent collaborative and communication skills, and a strong sense of ownership and responsibility are essential.
