Role Overview: Data Scientist II, Product Analytics

In your role as a Data Scientist II, you will leverage your analytical skills to enhance user experiences across Expedia's Content and Review products. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and strategy teams to optimize various metrics like traffic and conversion rates, ensuring superior content coverage.

This mid-level position is designed for an analytical mind passionate about diving into product development, understanding user behavior, conducting AB tests, building product recommendations, and excelling at problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and data visualization to improve customer experience.
  • Lead product analytics projects, collaborating with multiple stakeholders within a community of analysts to share findings, methodologies, and successes.
  • Design and implement A/B testing processes, recommend new features, and manage end-to-end experiment setups.
  • Develop and maintain key metrics and dashboards to track product success and guide strategic planning.
  • Employ your proficiency in Python, R, or similar ML programming languages to solve complex business challenges through data-driven insights.

Who You Are:

  • A professional with 3+ years of experience in data mining, statistical modeling, and data analysis, preferably within the ecommerce sector.
  • Highly skilled in SQL, Excel, and at least one major programming language like R or Python.
  • Experienced in statistical analysis, A/B testing, predictive modeling, and optimization techniques.
  • Familiar with digital analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics) and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Adept at verbal and written communication, with exceptional data visualization skills.
  • Effective at independently managing stakeholders, expectations, deadlines, and project backlogs.
