Job Description

As a Data Scientist II at INFICON, you will engage in the development and refinement of mathematical models pertinent to industrial engineering and operations research, focusing on semiconductor manufacturing and related areas. Your responsibilities will involve devising and implementing methods and tools for addressing both single and multi-objective optimization problems, selecting optimal solvers and strategies, and ongoing enhancement of these models. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to further research and application development is key to this role.

Qualifications

To be considered for this pivotal role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Hold or be in the process of obtaining a PhD in Computer Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Exceptional candidates with a Masters or Bachelor's degree complemented by professional experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • Proven ability in formulating and solving MILP problems using both commercial and open-source solvers.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Demonstrated software engineering skills, evidenced through internships, professional experience, or significant coding projects.
  • Legal work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hiring and throughout your employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • First-author contributions to publications in industrial engineering and/or operations research.
  • Experience in multi-objective optimization, including PhD research.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a history of cross-group and cross-cultural collaboration.
  • Professional background in or support of semiconductor factory operations.
