About the Role

We are on the lookout for a highly skilled and dedicated Data Scientist to become a part of the Quality Analytics team under the Global Data Insight and Analytics (GDI&A) division at Ford Motor Company. In this key position, focusing on Natural Language Processing (NLP) Modeling, you will be instrumental in crafting innovative solutions that enhance the quality analytics functions of our prestigious organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement NLP models to derive meaningful insights from vast amounts of unstructured text data.
• Work alongside cross-functional teams to pinpoint new opportunities and strategize the application of NLP methods to boost quality analytics.
• Create and apply advanced data preprocessing and feature engineering techniques for NLP applications.
• Employ both supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques in tackling intricate NLP challenges.
• Continuously evaluate and refine models to enhance performance, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Contribute high-quality, maintainable code to both existing and new data pipelines.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest in NLP technologies and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our methodologies and algorithms.
• Effectively communicate all findings, insights, and strategic recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and impactful manner.

Minimum Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of practical experience in Python programming, aimed at data analysis and machine learning.
• Minimum of 1 year working with SQL programming languages and managing relational databases.
• Over 2 years of experience in utilizing major NLP libraries and frameworks like NLTK, spaCy, and Gensim.
• Proven expertise in both supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques.

Preferred Requirements

• PhD in a pertinent field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Data Science.
• Experience with large language models like GPT-4, Palm, and Llama-2.
• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks including TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Relevant industry experience in NLP modeling, preferably within automotive or similar sectors.
• Proficiency in using Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative projects.
• Experience in leveraging Google Cloud Platform for data management and machine learning tasks.
• Outstanding communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and explaining complex technical concepts to non-expert audiences.
