Data Scientist Data Scientist Millennium is in search of an exceptionally skilled Data Scientist to join one of its equities investment teams in New York. The successful candidate will amalgamate strong technical skills, financial acumen, and statistical methods to investigate, analyze, and employ a wide array of structured and unstructured datasets, in a bid to develop data-driven solutions that augment the investment process of teams. The candidate must demonstrate communication skills suitable for not only elucidating advanced statistical and technical methods in easily understandable language, but also to comprehend problems as articulated by investment teams in their vernacular. Principal Responsibilities - Analyze, manage, and store extensive amounts of datasets from market to alternative data vendors - Relay and provide data insights to investment teams (portfolio managers and analysts) - Mine new alternative datasets to unearth signals and ascertain value - Script code to tag, cleanse, and normalize voluminous unstructured and structured datasets - Back test datasets to evaluate their correlation to company KPIs - Communicate and offer data insights to investment teams (portfolio managers and analysts) - Collaborate with the data sourcing team to identify new potential data products and vendors - Develop data analysis tools and libraries in concert with the rest of the data science team - Design visualization dashboards to display key insights Qualifications/Skills Required - BS, MS, or PhD degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field. - Minimum 2+ years of professional experience within financial data science - Minimum 2+ years of programming experience in Python - Excellent communicator - Proficient in writing SQL queries - Hands-on experience with ETL processes - Experience in company fundamental financial metrics (e.g. revenue, cash flow, margin, etc.) The projected base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000, which is specific to New York and may be subject to future adjustments. Millennium offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and an extensive benefits package.
