About The Role
As a Data Scientist at Nielsen, you will play a pivotal role in merging the worlds of data science, software development, and data engineering. If you are enthusiastic about constructing models at scale, crafting production-grade software in the cloud, and mastering machine learning, this role is for you. Key Responsibilities
- Develop advanced measurement and planning solutions for a diverse client base including publishers, advertisers, and agencies.
- Lead data science projects from inception to deployment, ensuring reproducibility every step of the way.
- Maintain and deploy data pipelines and models in a production environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring methodologies into production, ensuring their validity and optimization.
- Effectively communicate complex methodologies and findings to a varied audience.
- Investigate new methodologies for cross-platform audience measurement focusing on trend analysis, data imputation, and reducing biases, among others.
- Undertake continuous development and support of new projects by exploring and processing data effectively.
- Ensure high data quality and address production issues swiftly.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of methodologies and coding processes.
Required Technical Skills
- 0-3 years of experience in Python, PySpark, SQL.
- A solid academic background in data science, statistics, engineering, applied mathematics, or related fields.
- Proficiency in tools like Git, Gitlab, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Experience with cloud services such as AWS or Google Cloud is preferred.
- Strong understanding of statistics, machine learning, and data manipulation.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Spotfire or Tableau.
Essential Business Skills
- Exceptional communication skills in both written and verbal form.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building effective team relationships, including remote interactions.
