Position: Data Scientist
Reports to: Senior Director, Digital Services
Location: In-office position based in Calgary, Alberta

Position Summary:

As a Data Scientist at CAWST, you’ll lead initiatives in data engineering and analysis to drive personalization and recommendations based on behavioral data, enhancing the effectiveness of our programs across the globe. Collaborate with internal teams to leverage data that connects clients to essential services and resources, advancing our mission to bring safe water and sanitation to underprivileged communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead data-driven initiatives to deliver customized service recommendations.
  • Manage data collection, organization, and analysis to refine product development and gauge impact.
  • Utilize your expertise in data analytics to extract meaningful insights from client interactions.
  • Collaborate across teams to identify trends, solve problems, and optimize outcomes.
  • Engage in the development and implementation of metrics and targets for various projects.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in data engineering, analysis, or data science.
  • Advanced skills in data querying, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Experience in delivering presentations and making data accessible to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of ETL pipelines, data lakes, and core database concepts.
  • Proficiency in relational databases and, preferably, familiarity with cloud infrastructures like Microsoft Azure.
  • A knack for machine learning techniques is a plus.
