Position Overview: Data Scientist

As a Data Scientist at Blend360, you will be at the forefront of our data-driven initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include analyzing customer purchase patterns, identifying trends, and providing insights to better understand customer behaviors. This position allows for the flexibility to work remotely if you are located in LATAM or to work in our Montevideo, Uruguay office.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize SQL, Python, and possibly Spark for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Perform data mining and apply statistical modeling techniques to provide actionable insights.
• Create visually appealing data visualizations (graphs, tables, dashboards) to communicate findings and recommendations.
• Independently manage and execute projects to deepen our understanding of customer behaviors.
• Collaborate with international stakeholders, including daily sync-ups with global teams.
• Engage in code review and programming tasks to ensure data analysis efficiency and accuracy.
• Contribute to long-term projects focusing on customer analytics and behavior patterns in the retail sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and extraction.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in libraries like Pandas and Scikit-learn; familiarity with Jupyter notebooks is beneficial.
• Experience with big data technologies and frameworks (e.g., Spark) is a plus.
• Knowledge of statistical modeling techniques such as supervised/unsupervised learning, experimentation, and causal modeling.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools and techniques for creating compelling visual narratives.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in retail analytics or similar industries is highly advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal English skills are required for effective communication within the team.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in similar roles.
