Job Purpose:

Join our team at Mekdam Technical Services as a Data Scientist to spearhead the utilization of complex data analysis in enhancing our business intelligence and analytics capabilities. Your role will be pivotal in deriving actionable insights from data and driving the automation of processes through advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.

Job Context & Major Challenges:

In this role, you will focus on applying data mining techniques, performing statistical analysis, and developing high-quality prediction systems that are integrated with our products. You will be tasked with handling large data sets to uncover process optimization opportunities and using predictive models to evaluate various business actions. The main challenges include applying a diverse range of data analysis methods, developing algorithms, and implementing models, as well as simulating complex IT scenarios and solutions.

Key Job Accountabilities:

As a Data Scientist, you will:

• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to leverage data in driving business solutions.
• Analyze data from company databases to enhance product development, marketing strategies, and overall business strategies.
• Utilize machine learning techniques to build and optimize classifiers.
• Conduct cutting-edge data mining in support of machine learning projects.
• Improve data collection processes to capture essential information for analytic systems.
• Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.
• Develop automated anomaly detection systems and monitor their performance.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and effectively present the results.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.

Knowledge and Experience:

Applicants should have:

• At least 8 years of IT experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry, with expertise in establishing IT systems and applications.
• Profound knowledge of statistical and data mining techniques such as GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, and social network analysis.
• Strong grasp of machine learning techniques and algorithms including k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, and Decision Forests.
• Experience with data science toolkits, data visualization tools, and query languages like SQL, Hive, Pig, and SAP HANA.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase, and SAP HANA.

Technical and Business Skills:

Successful candidates should demonstrate:

• High proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Advanced computer literacy, particularly in MS Office and SAP modules.
• Awareness of IT industry standards, practices, codes, and certification programs.
• A proactive approach to IT and business continuity risk management and mitigation.
