The Advanced Analytics team at Sobeys is at the forefront of retail innovation. We are a multi-disciplinary team of data scientists, engineers, developers, and analysts who design, develop, and deploy high-impact, scalable ML/AI solutions. Responsibilities
- Research, build, train, serve, and monitor machine learning (ML) models.
- Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers (MLEs), Data Engineers (DEs), and other Data Scientists to create and manage end-to-end ML pipelines in Azure cloud development environment.
- Write production-ready code and participate in peer code review processes.
- Work with MLEs to scale, automate, and optimize ML pipelines.
- Collaborate with DEs on ETL processes in a big data environment encompassing billions of rows of retail data.
- Engage with various business stakeholders to understand needs and develop solutions via machine learning and advanced analytics techniques.
- Create dashboards in partnership with the BI team to monitor ML system performance.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience implementing measurement methodologies, specifically Bayesian paradigm for AB testing in retail using frameworks like PyMC.
- 3+ years of experience with marketing mix models in retail or similar settings.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with end-to-end machine learning algorithms in cloud or distributed environments using Python.
- Experience with distributed ML platforms like MLFlow, TensorFlow, or PyTorch using GPUs in cloud environments.
- 3+ years working with large datasets using Spark.
- Proficiency in cloud CI/CD environments such as Azure DevOps or Airflow.
- Proven ability to engage with stakeholders for requirements gathering and effective communication.
- Creative problem-solving skills and ability to manage ML pipelines independently.
- Experience with customer lifetime value models is advantageous.
- Experience with personalization algorithms for product recommendations is a valuable asset.
- Familiarity with Databricks and cloud environments is an asset.
- Experience in retail or similar environments is beneficial.
