Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Specialist to provide expert technical support and guidance in developing, managing, and enhancing systems to capture, measure, and present performance data. This role will support both internal staff and external partners, including foundations, community-based organizations, and federal entities. Responsibilities include conducting focus groups, coding qualitative findings, analyzing and presenting data through various mediums, and ensuring consistent practices across project lifecycles. The specialist will also manage the implementation of integrated evaluation plans, applying project management best practices to achieve high-quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Lead monitoring and evaluation for college and career readiness programs.
  • Assist program managers with evaluation protocols, data management tools, and survey instruments.
  • Conduct research, market analysis, and environmental scans to provide data tracking solutions.
  • Manage research projects and create evaluation protocols.
  • Conduct qualitative research, site visits, and focus groups to produce detailed reports.
  • Prepare and submit IRB packages, inclusive data collection tools, and monthly/quarterly reports.
  • Create presentations and reports based on data trends.
  • Provide administrative support, write reports, and present findings at conferences.

Program/Systems Support

  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for NIWL projects.
  • Act as a liaison between project managers and partners.
  • Create and maintain user manuals/flowcharts for software users.
  • Provide technical support and training for data systems and tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Access, and NVivo.
  • Prepare marketing materials such as brochures and annual reviews.
  • Organize and manage internal and external meetings.
  • Deliver monthly (or as required) training sessions on data management tools.

Applied Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficiency with database management software and online search tools.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data accurately.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement corrective actions.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Problem Solving & Impact

Work on problems of moderate scope, using judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate actions. Build rapport with internal and external staff, with decisions impacting work units or areas.

Supervision Given/Received

No supervisory responsibilities. Receives general instructions for routine work and detailed instructions for new assignments. Typically reports to an Associate Director or Director.

Education and Experience:

Education: Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent in Civil Society, Communication, Economic Development, Education, Public Administration, Research, Technology, or Related Fields.

Experience: Requires 2+ years of relevant experience in data collection and technical assistance, preferably in an NGO, government agency, or private company.

Physical Requirements:

Typical office environment. Ability to spend long hours on a computer, sit/stand for extended periods, and lift/move up to 5 lbs.

Technology to be Used:

Proficiency with personal computers, Microsoft applications, Power BI, mobile technology, and standard office equipment.

Travel Requirements:

Up to 10% travel required.

Compensation:

US Based Hiring Salary Range: $48,000 - $72,000. FHI 360 also offers a competitive benefits package, including a 12% monthly pension contribution, 18 days of paid vacation, 12 sick days, and 11 holidays per year.
