Job Overview

Are you passionate about managing a team that will shape and deliver the future of Payments and Digital Assets at the FCA? Do you want to work in the fast-paced and innovative world of digital assets, crypto, and payments? We are looking for a motivated Data Manager to join our Cross-cutting Market Analysis and Strategy department in the Payments and Digital Assets Directorate.

Our department plays a pivotal role in defining FCA strategies for payments and digital assets. We design and implement data strategies, manage risks through data, provide training, engage externally, conduct current state analysis, perform horizon scanning, and identify trends proactively.

Key Responsibilities

As the Manager leading a data analysis team, you will play a crucial role in understanding and analyzing the digital assets and payments sectors, thereby aiding the FCA’s strategy for these sectors. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Line managing a team of data colleagues and delivering projects through others
  • Overseeing forward-looking data ambitions and identifying new opportunities for data analysis and data visualization
  • Designing, delivering, and employing novel data strategies to support FCA’s goals for digital assets and payments
  • Managing operational, governance, and lessons learned workstreams
  • Presenting data outcomes clearly and impactfully using data visualization techniques to inform decisions
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders on data projects

Required Skills and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC) level vetting
  • Experience leading emerging technology projects within financial services
  • Experience designing and implementing innovative data projects

Essential Skills:

  • Knowledge of digital assets, payments, and e-money sectors
  • Proven analytical skills with experience in understanding complex data
  • Experience building strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure and use sound judgment
  • Effective management of multiple priorities and workstreams
