Join our dynamic team as a Data Tester focused on the Finance Data Repository (FDR) at Rackspace Technology. This crucial role involves planning, designing, executing, and summarising test results in close collaboration with top-tier professionals like Architects and Data Engineers.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities:

• Define testing scope, develop execution plans, and coordinate testing activities.
• Create and execute detailed test cases and test data.
• Validate data sources and apply transformation logic during data extraction.
• Assist business users during the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process.
• Ensure compliance with governance requirements through appropriate documentation and sign-offs.
• Identify testing approaches, pinpoint requirement gaps, and propose solutions for potential risks.
• Collaborate with the enterprise Testing team to align testing strategies, solutions, and technologies.
• Analyze test outcomes, determine defect causes, log issues in JIRA, and coordinate with developers for resolution.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data or ETL Tester.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, PySpark, JavaScript, Java, and familiarity with tools like Tosca or Python DataCompy.
• Comprehensive understanding of QA/Testing Life Cycle, database-related testing, ETL testing, and BI tools.
• Ability to transform complex business logic into executable SQL queries.
• Expertise in defect identification, documentation, and Agile Testing methodologies.
• Knowledge of database objects, relational data models, and information governance principles.
• Experience with Azure Databricks is a significant advantage.
