Overview

M&T Bank is seeking a skilled Data Visualization Analyst III to join our team. You will collaborate with the Head of Data Visualization to develop and manage a federated Center of Excellence (CoE) for Data Visualization. This integral role involves defining Business Intelligence (BI) usage policies and ensuring alignment with strategic goals, ultimately aiding business decision-making through effective data visualization.

Position Responsibilities

  • Visualization Standards: Create and disseminate visualization and dashboard design standards to promote clear and effective data communication.
  • Best Practice Sharing: Drive the use of Power BI tools through workshops and showcases of successful implementations.
  • Analytics Advocacy: Advocate for the analytical power of Power BI to solve business problems and drive decision-making across the organization.
  • Solution Delivery: Develop and manage robust Power BI reports and dashboards that meet business requirements.
  • User Empowerment: Facilitate a self-service BI environment by empowering users to create their own reports and dashboards within established guidelines.
  • Governance and Compliance: Monitor Power BI resource usage, manage access permissions, and ensure compliance with data governance policies.
  • Dashboard and Report Development: Collaborate with Senior Data Visualization Analysts to design interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Data Analysis and Visualization: Analyze data to identify trends and insights, translating findings into compelling visualizations to aid stakeholder understanding.
  • Data Gathering and Cleaning: Collect and prepare data for visualization, ensuring accuracy and consistency through data cleansing.
  • User Support: Provide support to internal users, help them navigate data dashboards, and address inquiries and issues.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance and testing to ensure data visualizations are accurate and functional.
  • Agile Practices: Define stories and prioritize team backlogs for multiple teams, ensuring streamlined execution of program priorities.
  • Risk and Regulatory Standards: Adhere to the company’s risk and regulatory standards, maintaining and enhancing internal controls to mitigate risk effectively.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Additional Duties: Complete other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years' related experience, or a combined minimum of 7 years' higher education and/or work experience.
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle product development within an Agile framework.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI (preferred), Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Intermediate knowledge of data visualization approaches and best practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and transformation.

Compensation

M&T Bank offers competitive and market-aligned compensation. The pay range for this position is $91,061.75 - $151,769.58 Annual (USD). Compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s unique combination of skills, knowledge, and experience.
