Job Role and Responsibilities:

As a Defect Control Engineer, you will be instrumental in our efforts to enhance production quality and efficiency. This position is based in Leixlip, Ireland, but collaborates with teams around the world. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the Technology Development and Process Integration teams to integrate new technologies into production.
  • Utilizing strong analytical skills in AI, machine learning, and programming (including SQL, Python, and MATLAB) for data analysis and program development.
  • Developing and optimizing wafer inspection protocols to detect and mitigate defects that impact yields.
  • Creating strategies for wafer inspection to maximize productivity and quality while minimizing costs.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering. Advanced degrees in Physics or Materials Science are preferred.
  • Proven experience in programming and debugging, with a strong emphasis on Python.
  • Experience in AI, machine learning, and data visualization techniques.
  • At least 3 years of experience with defect inspection tools in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of wafer inspection recipe setup and optimization, layout-sensitive defects, and defect analysis methods.
