Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Developer to design, write, test, and deploy high-quality code across various programming languages based on predefined requirements and parameters to deliver industry-leading solutions aligned with business needs. The selected candidate will adhere to development methodologies and principles to ensure continuous delivery and effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality code, adhering to coding standards and identifying potential risks in collaboration with the software engineering team.
• Translate logical designs into component designs, considering solution design, performance requirements, and existing systems.
• Analyze data elements and systems, data flow, dependencies, and relationships to develop conceptual, physical, and logical data models.
• Perform ad-hoc data analyses, writing SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, and views.
• Design and develop scalable ETL packages and support large-scale data cloud platforms.
• Liaise and collaborate with the data team, translating business requirements into data science outcomes.
• Support technical aspects of existing applications and adapt to new methodologies and technologies.
• Undertake application administration, custom query and report creation, end-user support, training, troubleshooting, and documentation of business processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent (Post Graduate degree preferred).
• Proven technical experience in managing applications and computer systems.
• Cloud (AWS) Certification is a significant advantage.
• Knowledge of IT service, change, and problem management (ITIL Foundation preferred).
• Familiarity with Power BI (certification is a plus).
• Strong problem-solving skills with accuracy and attention to detail.

Skills & Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in enterprise software development.
• Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, Informatica, AWS Glue, etc.
• Proficiency in relational databases, including MS SQL and Oracle.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud services, including EC2, RDS, Redshift.
• Experience with object-oriented and object function scripting languages, such as Python and Java.
• Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
• Working SQL knowledge with experience in query authoring and various databases.
• Experience with data migration across platforms, including cloud environments.
• Experience with reporting platforms, such as Cognos, Power BI.
• Knowledge of regulatory reporting for the Bank of Mauritius is advantageous.
• Experience with artificial intelligence and data science is a plus.
• Background in the financial services sector is beneficial.
• Experience in an Agile development environment and a solid understanding of development processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Experience with API testing.
• Previous experience as data engineers or analysts will be considered advantageous.
