Department Overview: Autonomous Systems Development

Our Autonomous Systems Development department focuses on cutting-edge technology and software for self-driving vehicles. We take on the inspiring challenge of delivering autonomous trucks and buses to our customers, a pivotal part of Scania’s shift towards sustainable transport solutions.

Job Assignment

As part of a specialized group, you will contribute to the development and verification of software for autonomous vehicles, specifically in the areas of localization, perception, and mapping. You will work in agile teams closely collaborating with other groups within our organization and with customers.

We aim to expand our team’s expertise in verification and simulation by bringing on two new professionals. Depending on your interests and skills, you will join either the Perception or Localization team.

Main Responsibilities

• Designing, conducting, and analyzing tests, mainly simulations, to assess perception and localization software for autonomous vehicles.
• Acting as the team’s expert and primary contact for test simulations.
• Collaborating with team members to develop and review new code and algorithms.
• Enhancing verification methods, performance metrics, and overall processes.
• Contributing to the team with your unique skills and personality.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in programming and verification, particularly in C++ and Python.
• Professional experience in development or testing in areas like localization, object tracking, sensor fusion, signal processing, or modeling dynamical systems in real-world applications.
• Self-motivated with a passion for tackling complex product development challenges.
• Strong team player with excellent communication and cooperation skills.
• Familiarity with agile development methods, CI/CD, SCRUM, and other modern team-oriented practices.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
