About the Role: DevOps Engineer

As a DevOps Engineer at Bright Machines, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, deploy, manage, and optimize highly-available, fault-tolerant, and secure cloud-connected industrial automation solutions. This role offers the chance to work with R&D teams developing end-to-end complex automation solutions for modern factories.

Our integrated solution includes on-prem equipment like full network stacks (switches, routers, firewalls) and bastion hosts that connect to the Cloud. You’ll also work with software applications running both on-prem and in the Cloud to operate and monitor robotic assembly lines.

You will engage directly with R&D, Software Engineering, and IT teams to develop CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure. Our software is designed to be cloud-native, deployable both on-cloud and on-prem. Your expertise will be crucial in developing and operating our stack, which includes:

• AWS and Azure as Cloud providers
• Terraform and Ansible for Infrastructure as Code
• Docker and Kubernetes
• GitLab CI/CD and GitOps practices

What You Will Be Doing

• Design and build infrastructure, develop tools, and champion industry best practices to foster a strong DevOps culture
• Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure for running applications and automation systems
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient and continuous delivery of software updates
• Implement and manage logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure high availability and reliability of services
• Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices, including vulnerability management and incident response
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for tools you and your team build

What We Want to See

• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role
• Proven track record of building and maintaining Cloud Infrastructure for mission-critical SaaS applications/services
• Experience with CI/CD tools and GitOps methodologies
• Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting on Linux
• Expertise in public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Strong experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
• Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization tools
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus/Grafana)

It Would Be Great If You Had

• Experience with recent forms of CI/CD pipelines like MLOps and DevSecOps
• Experience supporting developers on MacOS and Windows, in addition to Linux
