About the Role

We are looking for a visionary Director of Engineering to lead our Artificial Intelligence (AI) Platform team. This group is vital, managing the infrastructure and tools that power our pivotal AI and ML applications. This role is central to advancing the AI capabilities at Hinge, placing you at the forefront of our technological evolution.

Key Responsibilities

As the leader of our AI Platform team, you will:

• Drive the vision and strategy for our AI infrastructure, significantly enhancing our model delivery process.
• Uphold high standards in code quality, system design, scalability, and reliability.
• Expand and manage a team of top-tier engineers.
• Lead technical design discussions and collaborate closely with ML Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Managers.
• Integrate AI/ML workflows seamlessly into the existing Hinge system.
• Develop and refine best practices and processes to optimize team efficiency and effectiveness.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Over 10 years of experience in ML or platform engineering, with at least 4 years focused on AI/ML.
• At least 3 years in engineering management, preferably with AI platforms.
• A strong background in ML Ops and data infrastructure with familiarity in cloud-native environments.
• Proven leadership skills in aligning tech strategies with business objectives.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with diverse teams.
• A strategic perspective on whether to build or buy when it comes to new technologies.

Experience with AWS, Argo, Kafka, Kubernetes, Terraform, Databricks, Flink, Ray, or similar tools is highly beneficial.
