About the Role

As a Gartner Analyst, you will bring our research, best practices, and tools to life for a diverse range of world-class clients. Your work will encompass both pragmatic research to tackle today’s problems and provocative insights challenging clients' assumptions for the future. Strong listening skills and a curious mindset are essential to develop compelling research insights that address large enterprise IT challenges.

Your key focus will be on enterprise IT data lifecycle management. You will advise IT infrastructure and operations leaders on data archiving, data retention, digital communications governance, and data lifecycle management decisions. Utilize your broad knowledge of technologies, vendors, processes, and best practices to provide actionable insights to our clients.

What You Will Do

• Write and publish analysis and positions regularly based on evidence-based research.
• Offer actionable advice to clients and prospects through virtual interactions.
• Concisely communicate complex concepts with authority.
• Engage with senior-level executives to build relationships, establish credibility, and solve problems.
• Conduct research by networking with clients, industry contacts, and evaluating and analyzing information.
• Develop vendor comparison and market evaluation research documents like Gartner Magic Quadrants and Market Guides.
• Present at conferences as an industry expert.
• Partner with sales and service delivery teams to boost account growth, retention, and engagement.

What You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree.
• 10+ years of experience in an enterprise IT data lifecycle management role or industry.
• Experience with major vendors and products in data lifecycle management, data archiving, and data compliance (e.g., Smarsh, Proofpoint, Global Relay).
• Experience in digital communications governance solutions for platforms such as Microsoft Exchange, Teams, Zoom, and WhatsApp.
• Familiarity with data lifecycle management tools, policies, and procedures.
• Knowledge of data storage optimization techniques to reduce costs and risks.
• Understanding of key considerations for managing lifecycle data in various environments (public cloud, hybrid cloud, SaaS, on-premises).
• Awareness of emerging trends, technologies, and innovations in data lifecycle management.

Nice to Haves

• Experience in enterprise IT backup and data protection roles.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies for hybrid and public cloud workloads.
• Understanding of disaster recovery strategies, tools, and techniques.
• Background in cyber recovery and ransomware protection.
