Job Description: Director of Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Strategy

KIPP TEAM & Family is actively seeking a Director of Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Strategy to join our dynamic network office team. This leadership role is vital for leveraging AI technology to enhance both academic and administrative functions. The role encompasses collaboration with Teaching & Learning, Data, Technology, KIPP Forward, and other teams, serving the KIPP communities in New Jersey and Miami.

The position involves two key phases: initial research, planning, and fundraising, followed by piloting and implementing AI solutions. This hybrid role will be based in Newark, Camden, or Miami.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising and Resource Development

• Lead efforts to secure funding for AI initiatives through donor engagement, grant proposals, and external partnerships.
• Develop and execute an AI fundraising campaign aiming to raise $500,000-$1,000,000 in the 2024-2025 school year.
• Identify and cultivate potential donors, including foundations, corporations, and philanthropists.
• Collaborate with the AI Innovation and Strategy Associate to write compelling grant proposals aligned with KIPP’s strategic goals.
• Implement AI tools to improve fundraising processes and systems, enhancing donor engagement and grant management.
• Coordinate fundraising events and initiatives, showcasing the impact of AI projects within KIPP.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising strategies, providing regular reports to senior leadership.

Strategic AI Integration

• Develop and implement AI strategies that align with KIPP’s educational philosophy and operational needs.
• Enhance teaching effectiveness and streamline administrative processes, maintaining focus on privacy and security.

Program Development & Software Implementation

• Lead the deployment of AI tools to improve learning outcomes, working closely with the Technology team.
• Oversee AI solution implementation, ensuring technical feasibility, resource planning, and seamless integration.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with educational leaders, teachers, administrative staff, and IT teams to integrate AI solutions effectively.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.

Training and Support

• Create training programs to enhance staff AI literacy and competency.
• Provide ongoing support, promoting continuous learning and development.

Data Management

• Champion ethical AI practices, ensuring transparency and adherence to data privacy standards.
• Oversee data governance to comply with privacy and security standards.

Innovation Leadership

• Stay updated on emerging AI technologies and educational trends.
• Promote experimentation and pilot programs to explore new AI applications in education.
