What You Will Do

Let’s change the world together. As part of the Amgen Global Clinical Data Management team, you will lead our data management team to optimize and deliver an industry-admired clinical evidence platform essential for innovative medicines. You will be accountable for:

• Leading and overseeing the data management organization to ensure operational excellence in clinical trial execution.
• Building and developing a high-performing internal data management team.
• Aligning Amgen’s strategy and priorities with our Functional Service Provider (FSP).
• Being part of the Global Study Operations (GSO) leadership team to deliver quality clinical trials through innovative processes and strong cross-functional partnerships.
• Supporting the acceleration of clinical programs and continuous improvement efforts with innovative thinking.

Responsibilities

Your role will include but not be limited to:

• Oversight of a distinct Data Management (DM) operational unit.
• Recruiting, managing, and developing staff.
• Global resource planning and assignments.
• Setting functional goals and objectives.
• Creating and implementing GSO & DM strategies.
• Developing, reviewing, implementing, and enforcing data standards.
• Ensuring DM processes/systems meet regulatory and business requirements.
• Being an active member of the Leadership Team to provide a foundation for GSO success.

Basic Qualifications

• Doctorate degree and 4 years of data management experience, or
• Master’s degree and 7 years of data management experience, or
• Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of data management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, or programs.
• Strategic and innovative thinker with experience in driving operational excellence.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and impact business decisions.
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions and drive decisions.
• Experience overseeing clinical research suppliers.
• Project management experience.
• Previous experience in a global, matrix organization.
• Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to anticipate and solve challenging issues.
