Your Contribution to the Organization

As a Director of Customer Engineering, AI Software Solutions, you will lead the design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging of systems, software, and solutions. Your work will contribute significantly to HPE's product and service portfolio. Leading a diverse team of engineering professionals, you will oversee product research, design, and implementation, driving technical strategy across the organization.

Management Level Definition

In this high-impact role, you will manage a large function within HPE, leveraging your strategic vision and leadership to achieve operational success. Fully accountable for the department’s success, you will shape and influence business strategy, policies, and objectives. Reporting directly to the Vice President, your insights will guide the strategic direction of the business.

How You’ll Make Your Mark

  • Provide strategic leadership for multiple managers and high-level individual contributors in designing and developing engineering solutions.
  • Create strategic and tactical resource plans, aligning with business and technology objectives.
  • Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs, ensuring resource allocation aligns with organizational goals.
  • Engage with program managers, marketing, supply chain, and senior executives to communicate program status and influence strategic decisions.
  • Manage relationships with outsourced partners, setting clear expectations for deliverables, quality, schedules, and costs.
  • Drive initiatives and programs to support business process improvements and cost reductions.
  • Provide overall people-care management for direct reports, including hiring, performance plans, coaching, and career development.

What You’ll Need

  • Education: First level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.
  • Experience: Typically 15+ years of related work experience, including 10+ years of people management experience.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, strategic management, analytical, and communication skills. Advanced business acumen and technical knowledge in engineering, technology, and product domains.

Impact/Scope

Collaborate across functions to deliver multidisciplinary engineering solutions, driving large and complex cross-organizational business initiatives. Interact at high levels with Individual Contributors, Managers, Directors, VPs, and SVPs within HPE and with external suppliers, partners, and customers.

Complexity

Lead highly complex, multidisciplinary engineering development and support activities. Anticipate operational needs and their impact on the business and respective functions or departments.
