Salary Range
The salary range for this role, based in New York, is $161,400.00 to $201,700.00. The range will vary for positions outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience and skills against the responsibilities of the position.
Position Summary
As the Director, Data Governance, you will partner with the North American Data Excellence Shared Services (NADESS) team to manage and validate essential data systems across Pernod Ricard USA (PRUSA). Your expertise will help drive data acquisition, governance, training, and quality, leading to the sustained progression of our local and global initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Governance and Design
- Work with management to define data governance and strategy; manage its implementation.
- Develop and implement data governance structures.
- Create business solutions in collaboration with Tech and other departments to optimize the use of current and future data sources.
Data Quality Assurance (QA)
- Champion continuous improvement of data quality processes.
- Lead Data Quality Confidence Dashboard development.
- Expand QA coverage to include new data sources and communicate QA awareness within the PRUSA data steward community.
Data Vendor Relationship Management
- Assess new data sources through cost-benefit analysis and complexity assessment.
- Oversee business discussions and decisions on data investments.
- Manage data vendor relationships, contracts, and compliance with service-level agreements.
- Lead joint business planning with key data vendors.
Master Data Management
- Streamline data permissions and security processes.
- Direct user acceptance testing in support of QA to production deployment.
- Standardize global data hierarchies and optimize data streams.
- Manage the data governance issue backlog and implement improvements based on business needs.
Pricing
- Drive strategic project rollouts in partnership with Finance, Customer Service, and Tech.
- Improve processes for new item creation and price data administration.
- Maintain pricing master data and develop KPI tracking.
Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team to maximize engagement and performance.
- Champion continuous improvement for data quality and integration.
- Present data governance status updates to the executive team.
Key Relationships
Work directly with the Global Digital Acceleration team (HQ), Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Pricing teams, DABI & Analytics teams, and Tech teams.
Nature & Scope
The Director, Data Governance role is foundational and creates value by enhancing data quality for competitive advantage. The position requires strategic thinking, strong organizational and communication skills, and a passion for new technologies and process improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 7+ years in business data management, preferably in fast-moving consumer goods. Experience in data entry processes, PII data compliance, and enterprise-level data structures is highly desired.
