Join GEICO as an Internal Controls Leader
GEICO is on the lookout for several Internal Controls Leaders to support our Property & Commercial, Auto Personal, and Corporate Functions. This high-impact, high-visibility role requires a strategic thinker with robust leadership skills. The position reports directly to our Senior Director of Data, Model & AI Governance.
Key Responsibilities
Governance, Compliance, and Process Improvement
- Develop, maintain, and implement policies and procedures related to internal controls requirements.
- Conduct training sessions for employees on Data, Model, and AI Governance.
- Collaborate with business leaders to update and implement internal controls, including risk and control matrices.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancement and automation.
Strategic Leadership and Team Management
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to design, ensure compliance, and remediate internal controls processes.
- Build and manage a dynamic team supporting internal controls design, compliance, and remediation.
Collaboration and Alignment
- Work closely with business partners and corporate functions to ensure consistency in internal controls practices.
Regulatory Compliance and Representation
- Stay informed on financial regulations, industry standards, and Data, Model, and AI Governance regulations.
- Represent internal controls interests to internal and external parties, including CFO, business leadership, governance committees, and auditors.
Communication and Presentation
- Provide and review periodic and ad hoc presentations for various stakeholders.
- Communicate risk events, issues, and processes clearly and effectively.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in compliance, accounting, finance, business, or relevant experience.
- 8+ years of expertise in risk governance, privacy, internal controls, and/or regulatory compliance.
- Attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in finance or accounting (CPA, CFE, CIA, or other certifications are a plus).
- Experience in data analysis, audit, and compliance.
Location
This hybrid role requires on-site presence 3 days per week at one of our office locations: Chevy Chase, MD; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; or New York, NY.

Salary Information
Annual Salary: $130,000.00 - $300,500.00. The final salary will be determined based on various factors including the scope of the role, candidate's experience, education, training, and other market considerations.
