The Position

Novo Nordisk is undergoing an exciting transformation, and we are building new capabilities within our Global Development’s Data Science organization. The Data Science Digital Assets Evaluation Lead will play a critical role in acquiring external digital and data innovations. This leader will evaluate digital/data assets and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to lead due diligence activities.

This role offers a unique opportunity to establish a novel capability from the ground up. The ideal candidate will excel in project management, strategic communication, and stakeholder relationship management. We seek a visionary leader to spearhead a groundbreaking team focused on evaluating digital assets, driving the identification and acquisition of innovative solutions.

Relationships

This position reports to the Senior Director, Data Science Evaluation & Integration Strategy within Novo Nordisk’s Data Science External Affairs organization. The Digital Assets Evaluation Lead will collaborate with various functional teams, including BD, DDS, and DEI.

You will work closely with the Scouting and External Ventures Lead to conduct detailed due diligence on identified opportunities, interacting with teams and stakeholders across the US and Denmark.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement a strategy for evaluating and acquiring digital assets aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Build a comprehensive framework to assess opportunities based on scientific merit, commercial potential, and Novo Nordisk priorities.
  • Prioritize digital space opportunities, staying attuned to emerging technologies, market trends, and competitive landscapes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to articulate the business case behind potential investments and acquisitions, influencing key stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain a pipeline of potential targets using market insights and industry knowledge.
  • Represent DS DDI as a thought leader and subject matter expert in digital and data asset evaluations.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, fostering an environment that embraces experimentation, risk-taking, and improvement.
  • Work closely with the RWD Lead and DS External Ventures Lead for due diligence and evaluations.

Physical Requirements

5-10% overnight travel required.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in life sciences, Healthtech, or data analytics.
  • 10+ years’ relevant experience in business development, corporate strategy, venture capital, or related fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of data science digital assets and market opportunities.
  • Proven experience in evaluating and acquiring digital assets, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to collaborate with diverse teams and influence decision-makers.
  • Deep understanding of digital innovation, emerging technologies, and market dynamics.

The base compensation range for this position is $220,000 to $240,000, determined based on various factors. This position is eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance.
