Role Overview
As a Director, Data Scientist in our Group Insurance division, you will collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and other professionals to create models supporting Life Data Analysis. Key responsibilities include:
- Implementation of machine learning models that ensure stability, producibility, scalability, and seamless integration with other services.
- Solving complex business problems and deploying innovative products and services to enhance customer experience.
- Providing deep technical leadership in high-impact data science initiatives, identifying optimal data sets and models, and removing technical impediments.
- Managing and mentoring team members in data analysis, model development, testing, training, and tuning.
- Continuous learning and application of new skills to improve business insights and model performance.
What You Can Expect
- Provide technical leadership for high-impact data science projects.
- Identify optimal data, models, training, and testing techniques for successful product delivery.
- Communicate model design and insights clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.
- Leverage continuous integration and deployment best practices to ensure successful model deployment.
- Apply programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, Java, or Scala for various data tasks.
Skills and Expertise
- Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Ability to lead independently and leverage diverse ideas for the organization’s benefit.
- Experience with agile methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Strong business insight and ability to make sound decisions.
- Significant experience in Statistics, Computing, Data Acquisition, Data Transformation, and Machine Learning.

Salary Range
Prudential complies with state-specific laws requiring the disclosure of the salary range for roles when hiring residents in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is $173,500.00 to $234,700.00, subject to various factors, including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Additional compensation and benefits eligibility are also possible.
