Job Responsibilities

As the Director of Data Science, you will:

• Ensure our Machine Learning models deliver significant impact on business outcomes.
• Collaborate with Data Science Team Leads to allocate resources effectively to high-impact projects and ensure timely completion.
• Motivate and develop team members to reach their maximum potential through attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.
• Identify business opportunities and work seamlessly with stakeholders and tech partners.
• Advocate best practices for processes, coding standards, and technologies within the data science department, offering technical expertise for fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Provide technical advice on modeling questions and MLOps design choices, along with rigorous reviews of critical pull requests.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Has experience managing teams or departments with a proven track record of business impact through deploying ML models into production.
• Boasts profound knowledge of predictive Machine Learning models, software engineering practices, and Machine Learning Operations.
• Is proficient with or can quickly adapt to our tech stack, including Python, AWS services (Step Functions, Glue, Sagemaker & Sagemaker Python SDK, Redshift, etc.), Jenkins, Terraform, FastAPI, and SQL.
• Possesses a strong business understanding and is capable of drawing significant insights from A/B test experiments to advise stakeholders appropriately.
