We are seeking a Data professional to head our Data Science team. As a Data Science Principal/Director, you will be responsible for transforming our clients' business into a more data-driven one, where data is used to take action across all teams, on a daily basis. You will be a part of the Swiss management team and have the responsibility to expand our presence in the Swiss market with a strong emphasis on D&A.

What you will do

  • Head the data team for the Swiss office.
  • Lead and manage client interactions, playing a pivotal role in building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Translate business challenges into analytics solutions with clear outcomes. Use analytical output to drive business decisions that create an impact.
  • Lead project delivery to meet client expectations.
  • Responsibilities may include overall project delivery quality, developing presentations, and managing external relationships.
  • Act as a sounding board for data and analytics related queries of client business management.
  • Seek captivating opportunities beyond the scope of the current project and exhibit a strong entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Guide more junior members of the team, while overseeing the work of the entire team. Drive team growth and development for team members.
  • Nurture and grow the data team’s skillsets, culture and working methods.
  • Manage technically and occasionally execute projects.


What you’ll bring

  • Master's (or Ph.D.) degree in a quantitative field with an emphasis on data analysis (e.g. computer science, econometrics, AI, engineering, mathematics, physics, and other exact sciences).
  • 7+ years of consulting experience or relevant industry experience, with at least 3+ years at a project lead level and a robust network in the Swiss market.
  • Sharp intellect to quickly discriminate significant contributors from irrelevant details and to hierarchically structure information available in the data being analyzed.
  • Solid knowledge of statistical concepts, supplemented by skills with a variety of analytical tools ranging from databases (e.g. SQL, BigQuery, noSQL) to programming languages (e.g. R, Python), and from data visualization (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau) to machine learning.
  • Deep expertise in advanced analytics, data science and traditional analytics.
  • High-level understanding of data engineering and data strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver projects with expert team members and to provide inspiring guidance to juniors in the team.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly the capacity to explain complex analytical concepts in layman's terms to business users.
  • High proficiency in MS Office, particularly in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience in financial services and consumer goods is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in consulting (including internal consultancies) is highly beneficial.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required with (Swiss) German as a significant plus.
