About the role Chime is looking for a leader in data science to assist, manage, and expand our data science teams. You will lead a team of top-performing data scientists, driving advanced data solutions, from machine learning models to experimentation platforms, and formulating our data strategy. Our perfect candidate is inquisitive, strictly data-driven, with extensive leadership experience and a passion for resolving business issues. The basic salary offered for this role and level of experience will start from $249,300 and can rise up to $353,200. Full-time employees are also entitled to a bonus, a competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience. What you will do You can expect to: - Focus on people's happiness by ensuring individuals have the support they need in an innovative & collaborative environment - Work closely with our business partners, product leaders, and data teams to identify, lead, and deliver data solutions and strategies - Develop team members and promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement - Deliver data-driven products and insights, and influence product and engineering decisions - Understand complex business problems and break down projects into a structured approach - Maintain a high standard in terms of product thinking and analytical depth for your team through selective recruitment and mentorship - Promote the power of data science to understand and improve our business and operations Requirements To thrive in this role, you need: - A minimum of 5 years of experience managing people, remote teams, nurturing managers, and supporting data scientists - Over 8 years of experience in Data Science, preferably in Machine Learning Engineering - Experience solving business problems with Data Science in one or more of these domains: Risk Management, Product Growth, Member Experience Improvements - A Bachelor’s, Masters, or Ph.D. (or applicable experience) in a quantitative field (Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, etc.) - An inclusive approach to hiring and supporting people - Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex ideas and methodologies for various audiences - Knowledge of model development lifecycle, experimentation methods, and machine learning technology trends that can drive business innovation - Proven ability to balance practical business needs and scientific rigor - A proven track record of establishing and building partnerships across multiple organizations - Knowledge of a scientific programming language such as Python - Some experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS About us At Chime, we believe everyone deserves financial peace of mind.
