Join Our Trailblazing ML/AI Team as a Director of Product Management

We are currently on the search for an exceptional Director of Product Management to lead our core recommendations team at Match Group. This high-impact role focuses on using advanced machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, including next-gen AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), to elevate the user experience through personalized recommendations.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be tasked with owning the strategy and execution to enhance our member-centric recommendations system. Reporting directly to the SVP of Core Products, this pivotal position will play a crucial role in shaping and advancing our product capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Vision and Leadership: Develop a cutting-edge product strategy incorporating ML and AI to deliver unique, personalized user experiences. Oversee and expand a focused team of product managers, thereby fostering a culture dedicated to innovation and excellence. Collaborate with cross-departmental leaders to ensure strategic alignment and optimal resource allocation enhancing product impact.

Product Development Lifecycle: Take charge of the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch. Implement rigorous testing protocols to ensure product effectiveness and efficiency before rolling out updates. Post-launch, maintain ongoing enhancements based on user feedback and performance metrics.

Team Member Collaboration: Serve as the primary evangelist for the recommendations product line, ensuring clear communication and collaborative efforts across the organization to align with the company’s strategic objectives.

Data-Driven Decision Making: Champion a robust analytical approach within the team, leveraging both qualitative and quantitative data to inform decision-making and improve product offerings continuously.

What You’ll Need:

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, with a solid grasp of ML, AI, and data science. You should have at least 8 years of experience in product management, including 3+ years leading teams specifically focused on machine learning or recommendation systems. A proven ability to lead and inspire teams, coupled with a strategic mindset and excellent problem-solving skills, is crucial.

Location:

This is a hybrid position requiring in-office collaboration three days per week, based in San Francisco and/or Palo Alto, CA.
